Well, another story about how a city economics fail to classify Bed and Beakfasts as their own entities. Instead they choose to enforce blanket policies that leave Bed and Breakfast owners in the cold.
Pearson's Pond Bed and Breakfast in Juneau, Alaska is facing a potential 700% increase in water and wastewater bills, according to the city's plan to meter water use. Pearson's B&B is classified as a metered residential user. Other bed and breakfasts in the area are considering shutting down, as businesses can't handle the proposed increase.

Illegal B&B's in California's Napa Valley
Apparently, there are a number of illegal Bed and breakfasts in Napa Valley. Legitimate bed and breakfast owners are concerned and backing a crackdown on these illegal operations. However, there doesn't seem to be any clear direction on how to enforce the laws and who should collect the revenue from these illegal bed and breakfasts.

Sunken Bed and Breakfast salvaged
Those familiar with the BBResources news may be familiar with the saga of the Stacey Leigh Schooner/Bed and Breakfast. Initially reported at BBResources.com for delinquent taxes, the Stacey Leigh Bed and Breakfast sank in April, 2004. Once owned by Benito Mussolini, the schooner is now above water and being restored to float again.
